Winwordy (392K) for Windows 95/98/ME/2K/XP/Vista/7 (25 Jun 10)

Click the above link to download the program, but read the next paragraph.

Winwordy is a collection of word puzzles. To do anything at all, it needs to refer to a “dictionary” (an extensive list of words). Thus you will also want to download this file (780K) and unzip it to the same directory where the program itself resides. This only has to be done once, but if you are interested in finding other dictionaries, you might start looking here or here, which is where I found the ones I have made available.

If the program behaves strangely, there is a page of FAQ, which may help. If not, you can e-mail me at the address found in the program’s Help|About dialog box.
25 Jun 10: Added five more word lists — “individuals”, “doubles”, “ascendants”, “descendants”, and “flip-flops”.
27 Oct 09: A new word list has been added — “Caesar pairs”.
22 Aug 09: A disappointed user pointed out that the wordfind window did not remember search results (or save them with the rest of a file). The program has now been instructed to do that.
2 Aug 08: At the request of a user, added palindromes to the word lists. Another suggestion: the space bar can now be used to shuffle the letters when looking for anagrams or subwords.
20 Jul 08: This is the first appearance of this program, which I have been tinkering with for quite a while. I await feedback of any sort — suggestions, bug reports, etc.
