The Dame Road Song

The Dame Road Song
(Sung to the tune of "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean")

Refrain:
Dame Road, Dame Road,
Oh, how I love you, Dame Road, Dame Road!
Dame Road, Dame Road,
Oh, how I love you, Dame Road!

I love you on Mondays for tempo,
You're covered with wonderful dirt!
Oh, I could run on you forever,
And my legs would never get hurt!

(Refrain)

We drive to Dame Road in red dragons,
Through Newfields and Newmarket too,
Say hi to that store, Flora Ventures,
And remember fall two-thousand two!

(Refrain)

We jog to the end of the pavement,
And that is where we stop to stretch.
Be careful if you're wearing spandex,
Because on it those burrs can catch!

(Refrain)

The kennel announces "one mile,"
The downhill's not far after that,
The stop sign tells us that we've made it,
So we tap it, turn 'round, and run back!

(Refrain)

A blue sign points out the Browne Center,
Location of one special place;
A yurt built by our former captain,
Whose spirit lives on in that space!

(Refrain)

The return trip is all about teamwork,
Maintaining that "brisk" tempo pace,
The key is to run it together,
'Cause together, we'll win every race!

(Refrain)

Dame Road is the key to our victories,
The birthplace of championship teams,
So, thanks to our great tempo Mondays,
We run fast and achieve our dreams!

Refrain:
Dame Road, Dame Road,
Oh, how I love you, Dame Road, Dame Road!
Dame Road, Dame Road,
Oh, how I love you, Dame Road!
