Exeter 2 Avon Old Farms 10
Ashburnham, MA, Wednesday, April 12th
- Exeter never showed up to play this game, and thus lost by a score
of 10-2 to a good Avon team. Avon dominated the action from beginning to end
as Exeter was out of synch in all phases of team play. This was a complete
team collapse in all aspects, with the offense and transition game particularly
weak. The close defense and goalies did their best to keep the game close
despite the ball being in their zone 90% of the time. Unlike last year when
Exeter fell behind early and made a great comeback to win the game, no comeback
at all was evident today. For a team with so much talent and promise, this
was as poor a performance that could be remembered. There is a lot of work
to do if the BIG RED is going to be competitive with the good teams this season.
Let's hope this was just a collective bad day that will be put behind us as
we move forward. Click here
