Exeter 10  Thayer 6
Once again, it was a big 3rd quarter that included 5 unanswered goals that was crucial to Exeter overcoming a scrappy Thayer team by a 10-6 score. The entire margin of victory came in the 3rd quarter after a tie score at the half. Once the Big Red pushed out to an 8-3 lead with 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd, there was too much of a gap for Thayer to make up. After Exeter took a 3-1 lead in the 1st quarter, there was a letdown and some mental errors that helped the hustling Thayer squad tie the game at the half. Jeff Miller played well in the goal with 13 saves, and the close defensive unit of Seth Coburn, Matt Perdoni, and Ben Gage, and long pole middie Gabe Wood neutralized the Thayer attack. In particular, game ball winner Matt Perdoni made some punishing hits on Thayer attackers, denied his man offensive opportunities, and did a nice job on ground balls and clears. On the offensive side, Alan Eberstein (3 goals, 1 assist), Casey D'Annolfo (3 goals), Peter Monroe (1 goal, 1 assist), and Suresh Jones (1 goal, 1 assist) were the key players. Although it was not an overpowering consistent display of lacrosse by Exeter, there
were certainly moments of brilliance at both ends of the field, and the outcome keeps Exeter undefeated on the season.
