Exeter 15 NMH 8
Saturday, May 11th, Northfield, MA - NMH came
out playing a very physical and aggressive game that also featured some zone
defense and shut off strategy. Exeter took a 2-goal lead in the first quarter
and simply maintained that lead until the Big Red busted things open in the
4th quarter. Alan Eberstein (6 goals, 1 assist), game
ball winner Peter Monroe (2 goals, 4 assists), and Colin Thune (3 goals,
1 assist) were the offensive stars of the game. Peter is playing
dominant lacrosse all over the field. His ground ball work, transition, defensive
play, and offensive play were outstanding. The other first line middies Gavin
Nurick (1 goal, 1 assist) and Suresh Jones (2 goals) also made
significant contributions. The defense of Seth Coburn, Ben Gage,
Tom Rubel, Matt Perdoni, Gabe Wood, and goalie Jeff
Miller had a few lapses, but for the most part played very well, and shut
out NMH in the 4th quarter to help put the game away. It was a nice road win
after a long bus ride. See
