Exeter 15  Londonderry 5
April 17th, Exeter, NH - Exeter started this game as hot as the scorching 93° temperature on this unusual New Hampshire April day. Game ball winner Colin Thune immediately set the tone for the game by scoring unassisted just 57 seconds into the contest. Less than a minute later, Colin made a beautiful feed to assist a Suresh Jones goal, and then only 2 minutes later scored another unassisted goal to put Exeter ahead 3-0. Exeter never looked back as they dominated every phase of the game including faceoffs by Wyatt Golding and James Sheehan, ground balls, transition, and settled offense and defense. By the end of the first quarter it was 6-1, and liberal substitutions were already underway. It was a great game for Exeter's reserves to see a lot of playing time, and they took full advantage of this opportunity to play hard and well. Prep attackman Tom Petty had a big day with 2 goals and 2 assists, while middie linemates Bobby Goulding (2 goals) and Taylor Evans (1 goal), each notched their first career scores. High scorer Alan Eberstein had a 4-goal first half before he was subbed out for the rest of the game. At the defensive end, the starting long poles of Seth Coburn, Ben Gage, Matt Perdoni, and Gabe Wood yielded very few opportunities to Londonderry. Long poles replacements Tom Rubel, Jon Reed, Eric Jackson, and John Kaufman were just as stingy in the 2nd half. When Londonderry did break free for several 2nd half opportunities, prep goalie Jamie Prudden repeatedly frustrated their efforts by making great saves. Prudden finished the day with 9 saves and allowed only 2 goals. This was a very solid effort by the entire squad, and a positive sign that there was no letdown after the big Pinkerton win the previous outing.    See Game Pics
