Exeter 16 Greely HS 1
April 27th, Exeter, NH - Eleven different Exeter players
scored goals today as the Big Red overwhelmed Greely High School of Maine
16-1. Within the first five minutes of play the score was 5-0 in Exeter's
favor, and liberal substitution started. This was a game for the Exeter reserves
to show their stuff, and they certainly did just that. Led by game
ball winner John Rollo's three goals, the second attack of Rollo,
prep Tom Petty (2 goals, 1 assist), and senior Joe Houlder
(2 goals), accounted for half of Exeter's scoring output. In addition to their
scoring, this group worked hard to deny Greely their clear, and continually
kept the ball in the Red offensive zone. Prep goalkeeper Jamie Prudden
played most of the game, and was well protected by a defense of Jon
Reed, Tom Rubel, and Eric Jackson. Third and fourth middie
lines played much of the game, and lower Sloan Smith was able to notch
his first career goal off of a nice dodge. This was a beautiful New England
day, and nice outcome for the still undefeated Exeter squad. See
