Exeter 5 Pinkerton 7
April 13th, Exeter, NH - Two very good lacrosse teams clashed
in a rough and tumble defensive struggle that resulted in Pinkerton winning
7-5. Exeter scored first on a Ben Harris outside shot, but Pinkerton responded
with two1st quarter goals to take a 2-1 lead. Andrew Sung, Andrew Dodwell,
and Ryan Voccola scored in the 2nd quarter, but Pinkerton was able to keep
pace, their tying goal coming with only 23 seconds until halftime. Defensively,
Exeter played well. In particularly, Greg Donohue constantly stripped his
man of the ball and started a clear. Unfortunately for Exeter, the offense
was almost non-existent in the second half. There were lots of opportunities,
but other than a Luke Nutting goal on a nice dodge and pass from Jared Connell,
Exeter could not put one pass the Pinkerton goalie. Pinkerton's offense only
managed 3 goals in the second half, but that was enough to secure their win.
Exeter will need to play better lacrosse against the top quality opponents
if they want to come out on the winning end.
