Exeter 12 Yarmouth H.S. 3
Exeter played extremely well in their second outing of the season as they convincingly beat the visiting team from Yarmouth H.S. 12-3. Once again Exeter started quickly when Michael Saraceni fed Ryan Voccola for the first goal after only one minute of play. Game ball winner Voccola also scored the 2nd goal of the game, while Saraceni was involved in four out of the five 1st quarter goals by the Big Red. Michael finished the game with a big 4goal and 4assist effort to lead all scorers. Yarmouth was a solid and experienced team that played hard and smart. However, Exeter's skill and depth was too much for them to handle. While Saraceni and Voccola led the offense, Greg Donohue, Will Gilmore, Ben Courchesne, and Adam White spearheaded the stingy defense that produced a shutout for the first 22 minutes of play. Yarmouth scored two goals near the end of the first half, but only after liberal substitutions had taken place. To Exeter's credit, they continued to play hard the entire second half despite a commanding 8-2 halftime lead. The second half featured Andrew Sung's rocket shot from the outside to record his first goal of the season, and Alden Kinder's first goal on a nice dodge from behind. Other notable events of the game were Alan Eberstein's first career goal, Joaquin Walker's goal and two assists, and another great faceoff day for Ryan Glennon to go with his two assists.
