Exeter 11  Londonderry 5

Exeter defeated a very stubborn and hard-working Londonderry team in a game that was very close for the first half. Exeter created many good shots against a tough zone defense employed by Londonderry, but shooters either missed the cage or had their shots saved by excellent goalie play. Although Exeter dominated possession of the ball by working hard on ground balls, preventing Londonderry from clearing the ball, and tough pressure defense, the Big Red just could not score goals in the first half. The half-time score of 3-2 in favor of Exeter was not indicative of Exeter's domination of play. The 2nd half was a different story as the shots started to find the net, and fast break opportunities were converted into goals. Leading the balanced attack was Michael Saraceni with 2 goals and 3 assists, Ryan Glennon with 1 goal and 3 assists, Joaquin Walker's 2 goals and 1 assist, and Colin Thune's 1 goal and 2 assists. Exeter had 9 different players score goals which featured a rifle shot from Dave Seger from 18 yds out, and Matt Stolpinski's first career goal on a beautiful cut and feed from Colin Thune. The defense of Greg Donohue, Will Gilmore, Ben Courchesne, Adam White, and Nick Crawford played extremely well.
