Exeter 14 Kimball Union 6
On another cold rainy day, the Big Red soundly defeated a very athletic and aggressive Kimball Union Academy team by the score of 14-6. KUA struck first and played a very good first period as they kept Exeter off balance and out of synch. However, the 2nd period was all RED as Michael Saraceni and game ball winner Damien Chaviano led the offensive assault. Michael finished the game with 7 goals and 5 assists, tying his own school record for a single game point total that he just set two weeks ago. In addition, his current season total of 84 points has surpassed his own school single season scoring record of 77 points he set last season. Damien played a fabulous game in every respect, and finished the day with a personal best 5 goals and 1 assist. Exeter went into halftime with an 8-3 lead and then put the game away in the beginning of the 4th period with another unanswered 3-goal outburst. Liberal substitution was the rule for the 4th period, and the backup players all did a nice job finishing off the game. In particular, goalie Jeff Miller made several excellent saves on several shots from very close range. Another highlight was Ben Courchesne's long assist to Saraceni on a very nice clearing play. After a shaky start, the defense of Donohue, Courchesne, Gilmore, White, and Crawford all played very well.
