Exeter 6  Harvard JV 14

Exeter traveled to Cambridge, MA and played a very good Harvard JV team on their new astroturf field. Exeter played extremely well in the first half and managed to take a 4-3 lead into halftime. The first half featured 2 goals by Michael Saraceni, and one each from Ryan Vocolla and Joaquin Walker. The defense with Brian Anand in the goal also played well, with particulary effective play from Greg Donohue, Adam White, and Nick Crawford. The second half was a completely different ballgame. Exeter started to play a little nervous and tentative, while Harvard gained confidence and momentum. In a particularly bad 3rd quarter, Harvard scored 5 unanswered goals to take an 8-4 lead. Ryan Glennon's goal 1 minute into the 4th quarter narrowed the lead to 8-5, but Harvard answered quickly to squelch any comeback hopes. This was good experience for the Big Red against an older and very skilled team. It will help prepare us for the tough part of our schedule the rest of the season.
