Exeter 9   Belmont Hill 8

Michael Saraceni and Ryan Glennon led the offense and game ball winner Greg Donohue led the defense, as Exeter beat BH in a tough well-played game by two quality teams. Saraceni scored the first and last goals of the game on his way to a 5 goal effort that now puts him in 3rd place on the Exeter all-time scoring list. Glennon also earned five points with a 2 goal /3 assist effort to go along with his usual great work on faceoffs. Exeter was up 2-0 at the quarter and 5-2 at the half, but BH showed patience on offense and stuck to their game plan. The game drew close in the 4th period when BH came within one goal, but Exeter was not to be denied. This was the first test of the season for the Big Red, and it was nice to come away with a win. Since a few of the BH goals came when Exeter was a man down due to penalties, Exeter must do a better job of staying out of the penalty box and also playing better man-down defense.
