The Joseph T. Gifford MVP Award
| Joseph T. Gifford was a member of the very first lacrosse team at Exeter in 1935. Tragically, Joseph Gifford died on April 10th, 1939 at Princeton, NJ, as a result of an automobile accident. He was a senior at Princeton at that time, where he was secretary-treasurer of his class, a member of the undergraduate council, secretary of the Cannon Club, and a varsity wrestler. He was also the class agent for Exeter's class of 1935. His family established the Joseph T. Gifford MVP Award in his memory, and 1945 was the first year it was awarded. |
