Matt Ryan '13 - 2011

Matt is the only player in Exeter history to start every game as a 9th grader at a defensive position. Not only did he start at such a young age, but he quickly established himself as one of the better defenders and most clever players when picking the ball off the ground and making decisions with it. Matt also started as a freshman for the varsity soccer team, but lacrosse is his best sport. In his 10th grade year, Matt became only the 2nd player in Exeter history to be named a high school All-American at that age. Matt not only played dominating defense the entire season, but he demolished the school scoring record for long poles by scoring 14 goals and adding 15 assists. Matt won game balls for his outstanding play in both the Cushing game as well as the Tabor game this season. Matt has two more years of high school lacrosse to go before he inevitably goes on to play at the D1 level.
